Support Over Validation. What's The Difference?

Vision is intrapersonal. Those around you literally can't see as you do. You can tell the best story ever and they will imagine it in their own way: How scaly the dragon looks, or how high the explosion is at the oil rig. People can only understand to their level of understanding. If you’re at an 8 and they're at a 3, they can only understand you up to their level, despite how well you paint the picture. The same goes for when someone has more insight than you may have. Your 8 and their 10 is enough of a gap that you still miss some part of their storyline. We all have our shortcomings. Strengthening your weaknesses is not a bad idea. With that said, I’m beginning to learn that growing your strengths is the better alternative.
We have been given our inherent strengths for a reason. Utilizing your energy on improving what you’re already good at, is better time spent than the frustration of working on your follies. To not be shallow, there are always things that you fall short on that wouldn't take much energy to bring up to speed. Those things that would take much more time and energy to level up, you simply accept it and delegate those tasks if applicable. Realistically, we can’t be strong in everything, nor can we expect other people to understand our dreams and goals to the depth that we see them.
Just like every person is their own unique mixture of characteristics and traits, so are our dreams and goals. We dream as big as our mental limits allow. For example, expecting kids who have never seen outside of their neighborhood to dream big dreams is a hard task. They only know what they've seen. You can dream of being a lawyer or doctor because you've seen them and have a good understanding of their lifestyle and goals. Having dreams can be a blessing and a curse. To believe beyond your means can leave you feeling alone in a world of friends. I’m beginning to understand that those around you aren't always meant to understand you. They are the support that keeps you stable, so you can always believe in yourself. Looking to be understood is to seek validation for your character. You were created to achieve all that you can see. Go out and be THAT! Those who recognize your authenticity will support you, but do not look to them to replace what is ultimately your task to accomplish.
We are in the field of going for our goals and seeing our dreams become reality. Seek support from those who recognize you, not for validation of your dreams.
